“Sharpening Your Photographic Skills”
Santa Fe, New Mexico
July 27-August 2 2008

Limited to 14 Participants

This workshop, a great next step after basic photography, is for people who want to learn how to use color, light and composition to create outstanding images. We begin each day by editing and critiquing participants’ photographs. Critiques are followed by highly graphic lectures on digital camera settings, accurate metering and exposure, composition rules, creative use of light: mixing different light sources, creative flash techniques as well as editing, sequencing and story development. A key part of this workshop is learning how to use the key tools in Photoshop CS3 and Bridge for the development of an efficient digital workflow. You will learn how to edit, sequence and catalog, how to adjust levels, sharpen and clean images, and how to create stunning black and white images among other skills.

Afternoons are devoted to group field trips in and around Santa Fe photographing assignments based on topics discussed during morning sessions. The inspiring light, architecture, people, and colors of New Mexico offer participants ample opportunities to practice newly acquired skills. Raul and the course assistant accompany the group to provide hands-on support and advice.
