A quick trip to my home country of Cuba; Habana, Trinidad, Cienfuegos, Cayo Largo and Santiago, was a lot of terrain to cover but well worth it. I won’t label this voyage as a photographic trip, but more a journey of discovery to find my roots and my family.

To be honest, I paid no attention to the quality of the images I was shooting, as I was way more interested in walking and talking to people.

In Santiago I met my family for the first time after 5 decades of leaving the island. The ever flowing rum, slow burning cigars and the quintessential roasted pig on the beach rounded up this experience. The one thing that is constant every time I visit my country is the warmth and kindness of the people. They don’t have much but they sure as hell give it all to make you happy.
