Death Valley National Park
Our journey begins in the vast wilderness of Death Valley National Park, one of the world's most extraordinary desert landscapes. A place of endless horizons, sculpted dunes, colorful badlands, salt flats, rugged mountains, and surreal geological formations, Death Valley offers photographers an ever-changing canvas unlike anywhere else on Earth.
During four unforgettable days, we'll photograph the park's most iconic locations under the finest light, including Badwater Basin, the lowest elevation in North America, the mesmerizing patterns of the Salt Flats, the rolling Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, the vibrant mineral deposits of Artist's Palette, the winding beauty of Artist Drive, the breathtaking overlooks of Zabriskie Point, and the remote landscapes along West Side Road.
Our accommodations inside the park at Furnace Creek provide exceptional flexibility, allowing us to respond to changing weather, dramatic skies, and ideal lighting conditions without lengthy travel times.
Every morning begins well before sunrise, when the desert comes alive with soft pastel light. As darkness falls, the clear desert skies reveal one of the finest Milky Way photography locations in North America. With minimal light pollution, Death Valley offers spectacular opportunities for astrophotography, star trails, and dramatic night landscapes.
Zion National Park
Our adventure continues to the towering sandstone cliffs of Zion National Park, where the Virgin River has carved one of the most breathtaking canyons in the American Southwest. Here, soaring rock walls, lush valleys, cottonwood groves, and constantly changing light create endless photographic possibilities.
We'll photograph many of Zion's most celebrated locations, including Temple of Sinawava, Court of the Patriarchs, Towers of the Virgin, and the spectacular viewpoints along the Zion–Mount Carmel Highway, where sweeping panoramas and dramatic canyon walls offer unforgettable compositions.
Staying in Springdale, just outside the park entrance, allows us immediate access to sunrise and sunset locations while avoiding unnecessary travel and maximizing our time in the field.
Bryce Canyon National Park
Our final destination is the magical landscape of Bryce Canyon National Park, famous for having the world's largest concentration of hoodoos—towering sandstone spires sculpted by millions of years of erosion. Bryce is a photographer's paradise where constantly changing weather, dramatic cloud formations, fresh snow, and shifting light transform the landscape hour by hour.
We'll photograph the park's iconic overlooks, including Sunrise Point and Sunset Point, while exploring sections of the spectacular Rim Trail in search of intimate compositions and expansive vistas overlooking thousands of colourful hoodoos.
Bryce is also recognized as one of the world's premier Dark Sky Parks, making it an exceptional destination for night photography and Milky Way photography. Under crystal-clear skies, the canyon becomes an unforgettable setting for capturing the stars above one of nature's greatest geological masterpieces.
On our final morning, we return toward Las Vegas via the scenic Zion–Mount Carmel Highway, taking advantage of one last opportunity to photograph this remarkable landscape before concluding our journey.

DAY 1
LAS VEGAS
Arrive in Las Vegas and hold the operations meeting
DAY 2
DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
Departure for Death Valley National Park – In this below-sea-level basin, Death Valley is a land of extremes. Despite its morbid name, there is a great diversity of landscapes to photograph. Our first shoot will be in the afternoon, and we will have the opportunity to photograph on West Side Road.
DAY 3
DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
We depart for our early morning shoot, as we plan to photograph on the 20 Mule Trail overnight with the stars. We will have plenty of time to rest after breakfast as we leave mid-afternoon to photograph the Dunes.
DAY 4
DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
We depart to photograph Zabriski Point. It is surrounded by a maze of wildly eroded and vibrantly colored badlands; this spectacular view is one of the park’s most famous. Zabriskie Point is a popular sunrise and sunset viewing location.
After breakfast, we will photograph Artist Road – a scenic loop drive through multi-hued volcanic and sedimentary hills. Artist’s Palette is especially photogenic in late afternoon light. Later on that day, we will photograph Badwater (the lowest point in North America at 282 feet below sea level, Badwater Basin is a surreal landscape of vast salt flats) and Artist Road again.
DAY 5
DEATH VALLEY & ZION NATIONAL PARKS
We depart very early and will have another night sky photography opportunity (stars) on West Side Road. After breakfast, we depart for Zion National Park – a nature preserve located in southwest Utah distinguished by Zion Canyon’s steep red cliffs.
Zion Canyon Scenic Drive cuts through its main section, leading to forest trails along the Virgin River. The river flows to the Emerald Pools, which have waterfalls and a hanging garden. We will end our day with an afternoon shoot of the Virgin River in Zion.
DAY 6
ZION NATIONAL PARK
Depart for another night sky photography session (stars) at the Towers of the Virgin, and we will photograph Mount Carmel Road. In the mid-afternoon, we will photograph the Virgin River near Temple and near Landslide.
BRYCE NATIONAL PARK
We will photograph the Towers of the Virgin, Virgin River Bend. We will depart for Bryce National Park and photograph along the way.
Bryce Canyon National Park, a sprawling reserve in southern Utah, is known for its crimson-colored hoodoos, or spire-shaped rock formations. The park’s main road leads past the expansive Bryce Amphitheatre, a hoodoo-filled depression lying below the Rim Trail hiking path.
We will have a late afternoon and will photograph Sunset Point.
DAY 8
BRYCE NATIONAL PARK
We will depart for early morning night sky photography (stars), and we will photograph Sunrise Point. Then, we will hike to Sunset Point.
We will have plenty of time to rest, as our next shoot is mid-afternoon. We will then photograph the road to Yovimpa Point.
DAY 9
BRYCE NATIONAL PARK
Depart for our morning shoot – Bryce Point and Inspiration Point. We will depart for Las Vegas after breakfast.
