Experience one of the world's most extraordinary Arctic photography expeditions in Svalbard, Norway, where the primary focus is photographing polar bears in their natural habitat against a breathtaking backdrop of drifting sea ice, towering glaciers, and dramatic Arctic landscapes
ONLY 12 SPACES AVAILABLE!
Recognized as one of the best places on Earth to photograph polar bears, Svalbard offers exceptional opportunities for wildlife photographers to capture these magnificent predators as they roam the sea ice, hunt, rest, and interact in one of the planet's last true wildernesses. Every day is dedicated to maximizing photographic opportunities while adapting our route to weather, ice conditions, and wildlife activity.
Beyond polar bears, this expedition offers incredible opportunities to photograph the rich diversity of High Arctic wildlife, including walrus, bearded seals, ringed seals, beluga whales, humpback whales, fin whales, and, with a bit of luck, the world's largest animal—the magnificent blue whale. Bird photographers will also enjoy excellent opportunities to photograph colonies of Brünnich's guillemots, as well as numerous other Arctic seabirds inhabiting Svalbard's rugged cliffs and coastal waters.
Unlike traditional sightseeing cruises, this is a true photography expedition designed specifically for photographers. Every decision is made with photography in mind—from our flexible itinerary to the amount of time spent with wildlife. Whenever conditions allow, we schedule carefully planned shore landings, giving participants ample time to compose compelling landscape images and photograph Arctic wildlife without feeling rushed.
To maximize photographic opportunities, we operate with two Zodiac expedition boats, allowing small groups to approach wildlife respectfully while maintaining safe distances. These nimble boats also provide access to spectacular glacier fronts, drifting pack ice, secluded fjords, and remote coastal locations that larger vessels simply cannot reach.
Whether you dream of capturing an iconic portrait of a polar bear on the sea ice, dramatic encounters with walrus, breaching whales, or the pristine beauty of Svalbard's frozen wilderness, this expedition offers an unforgettable photographic experience in one of the most spectacular destinations on Earth.
Join us for the ultimate Svalbard Polar Bear Photography Expedition—an immersive adventure created exclusively for photographers seeking extraordinary wildlife encounters, awe-inspiring Arctic landscapes, and once-in-a-lifetime images.
Designed by Photographers for Photographers
This is not a sightseeing cruise; it is a photography expedition designed by photographers, for photographers.
Every aspect of the expedition is carefully planned to maximize photographic opportunities. Our itinerary remains flexible, allowing us to adapt to wildlife sightings, weather, sea ice conditions, and the ever-changing Arctic light. Rather than rushing from one destination to another, we prioritize spending quality time with exceptional subjects, allowing you to observe animal behaviour, refine your compositions, and capture truly unique images.
Our expedition leaders understand photographers' needs and work closely with the ship's captain and crew to position the vessel for the best possible light and viewing angles whenever conditions permit. With two Zodiac boats in operation, we can work in smaller groups, allowing closer access to wildlife and reducing crowding during photographic sessions.
Whether you are passionate about wildlife, landscapes, or storytelling through your images, you'll have the time, guidance, and freedom to create a portfolio that reflects your personal vision. This expedition is designed for photographers of all skill levels—from enthusiastic amateurs to experienced professionals—who want to return home with extraordinary images rather than simply memories.
If your goal is to photograph polar bears, Arctic wildlife, magnificent glaciers, and the pristine wilderness of Svalbard, this expedition has been crafted with one purpose: helping you capture the very best photographs possible.
